Reaction Steps
Using the procedure described in Example 9, 10.2 g of the carbonitrile from Example 2 was alkylated with 12.8 g of 1-bromooctane to give 11.5 g (68.5%) of 5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-9-octyl-9H-dibenzo[b,d]pyrrole-3-carbonitrile as a white solid.
