Procedure
A solution of 2.0 g of (S)-1-(4-bromo-2-butynyl)-3-[[(1,1-dimethylethyl)dimethylsilyl]oxy]-2-pyrrolidinone, 1-3 g of imidazole and 50 ml of tetrahydrofuran is stirred at room temperature for 72 hours. The solution is concentrated in vacuo. The residue is purified by chromatography (alumina, activity grade 2.5, 2% methyl alcohol/methylene chloride) to give 1.6 g of the desired product as a colorless oil.
