Procedure

The reaction of methyl 2,4-dibromobutanoate 17 with tetrahydro-thiopyran-4-ylamine 18J yielded methyl 1-(tetrahydro-2H-thiopyran-4-yl)azetidine-2-carboxylate as a light brown solid (35%). MS ISP (m/e): 216.3 (100) [(M+H)]+.
