Procedure
To a solution 2-chloro-6-(4-methanesulfonyl-piperazin-1-ylmethyl)-4-morpholin-4-yl-thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidine (450 mg) in DMF (6 mL) was added sodium thiomethoxide (183 mg) and the reaction heated at 1100° C. for 16 h. After cooling to room temperature the reaction mixture was poured into ice water and the resulting precipitate filtered and air dried to give 6-(4-methanesulfonyl-piperazin-1-ylmethyl)-2-methylsulfanyl-4-morpholin-4-yl-thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidine as a white solid.
