Procedure
Methyl 3-chloro-1H-pyrrolo[3,2-b]pyridine-6-carboxylate (1.10 g, 5.22 mmol) was suspended in 1,4-dioxane (25 mL) and 6 N aqueous hydrochloric acid (8.7 mL) was added. The reaction was allowed to stir at room temperature overnight. The reaction was then concentrated to give the title compound (1.2 g, 100%). +ESI (M+H) 197.1; 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6, δ): 12.50 (br. s., 1 H), 8.92 (d, J=1.6 Hz, 1 H), 8.46 (br. s., 1 H), 8.19 (br. s., 1 H).
