Procedure

To a solution of 2-(butoxy)-8-(methoxy)-9-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)-9H-purin-6-amine (7.34 g) in methanol (100 mL) was added trifluoroacetic acid (10 mL). The mixture was stirred at ambient temperature over the weekend to give a suspension.
