To a solution of tert-butyl 4-(benzyloxy)pyridin-2-ylcarbamate (5.89 g, 19.6 mmol) in methanol was added palladium on carbon (1.04 g, 0.981 mmol). After stirring under a hydrogen balloon at room temperature for 70 minutes, the solids were removed by filtration. The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure and solidified under high vacuum to provide the product (4.12 g, 99%) as white solid.
