Adding 5.6 m3 of the above magnesium bicarbonate solution (0.50 mol/L) into a reactor containing 6 m3 of cerium nitrate solution to react for 2 hours, and controlling the reaction temperature at 35° C. and the pH value of mother liquor at 5.7, cerium carbonate can be obtained. And then the cerium carbonate is filtered, washed, dried, and finally calcined at 650° C. for 5 hours to produce cerium dioxide.
