5-(4-Methylsulfonyl-phenyl)-1″-tert-butoxycarbonyl-dispiro[2,3-dihydrofuro[2,3-c]pyridine-2,1′-cyclobutane-3′,4″-piperidine] (0.30 g) dissolved in 4 M HCl in 1,4-dioxane (5 mL) is stirred at room temperature for 1 h. The solution is diluted with 1,4-dioxane and concentrated to give the title compound as HCl salt. LC (method 1): tR=0.66 min; Mass spectrum (ESI+): m/z=385 [M+H]+.
