(4-Methyl-3-oxo-piperazin-1-yl)-carbamic acid t-butyl ester (67 mg, 292 μmol) was at 0° C. combined with dichloromethane (2 mL) and trifluoroacetic acid (1 mL) to give a light yellow solution. The reaction mixture was stirred for 2 h at 0° C. and subsequently concentrated in vacuo to give the title compound as yellow oil, which was used without further purification in the next step.
