The title compound is prepared from 5-cyano-1H-imidazole-2-carboxylic acid [2-(4,4-dimethyl-cyclohex-1-enyl)-4-(1-hydroxy-4,4-dimethoxy-cyclohexyl)-phenyl]-amide (as prepared in Example 19) by treatment with LiBF4 in wet CH3CN using the procedure of Lipshutz, B. and Harvey, D., Synth. Commun., 12, 267 (1982).
