Procedure
A mixture of methyl 6-(6-methoxy-2-pyrimidin-5-yl-1H-indol-3-ylmethyl)pyridine-2-carboxylate (466 mg), a solution of ammonia in methanol (about 7 mol/L, 18.6 mL) and tetrahydrofuran (6.2 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 48 hours. The precipitate was collected by filtration, washed with methanol, and then dried under reduced pressure to obtain the title compound (370 mg). 1H-NMR (DMSO-d6) δ ppm: 3.79 (3H, s), 4.44 (2H, s), 6.70 (1H, dd, J=2.3, 8.5 Hz), 6.89 (1H, d, J=2.3 Hz), 7.34-7.41 (1H, m), 7.51 (1H, d, J=8.5 Hz), 7.63-7.77 (2H, m), 7.79-7.86 (2H, m), 9.13 (1H, s), 9.14 (2H, s), 11.45 (1H, s).
