To tert-butyl N-[2-(3-{5-[2-(methoxymethyl)-2′-methylbiphenyl-4-yl]-1,2,4-oxadiazol-3-yl}phenyl)ethyl]-N-methylglycinate (86 mg, 0.15 mmol) was added a 4N solution of HCl in dioxane and the mixture was heated in a tube at 70° C. for 3 hours. The solvent was then removed in vacuo and the residue was purified by preparative HPLC to give the title compound as a pale yellow oil. LC/MS (Method A): 472 (M+H)+, 470 (M−H)−. HPLC (Method K) Rt=18.0 min (Purity: 92.2%).
