To a mixture of 1,1-dimethylethyl 7-(2-{[(methyloxy)carbonyl]amino}-3H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridin-6-yl)-2,3-dihydro-1,4-benzoxazepine-4(5H)-carboxylate (0.52 g, 1.2 mmol) was taken into acetonitrile (5 mL) followed by addition of 4M hydrogen chloride in 1,4-dioxane (5 mL) and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 10 minutes. The reaction mixture was concentrated to give a white solid. It was washed with ether then dried to give methyl [6-(2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1,4-benzoxazepin-7-yl)-1H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridin-2-yl]carbamate hydrochloride salt (0.40 g, 100% yield), MS (EI) for C17H17N5O3: 340 (MH+).
