1.09 g of 4-methylpiperidine was dissolved in 10 ml of acetonitrile and added dropwise with 1.09 g of 4-bromovaleroyl chloride. The reaction mixture was stirred for 2 hours, then poured into water and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with wafer and dried over sodium sulfate, and then the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure to obtain 1.07 g of the title compound (yield: 82%).
