Procedure

To a solution of the title compound from Example 32 (0.37 g, 0.7 mmol) in dichloromethane (5 mL) was added trifluoroacetic acid (5 mL) and the reaction was stirred at room temperature for 1.5 hours. The solvent was removed in vacuo and the residue was azeotroped with toluene. The residue was then dissolved in ethyl acetate (30 mL) and washed with saturated aqueous sodium bicarbonate solution (30 mL) followed by 10% aqueous citric acid solution (30 mL). The acidic aqueous layer was basified to pH 7 with saturated aqueous sodium bicarbonate solution and then extracted with ethyl acetate (3×30 mL). The combined organic extracts were washed with water (30 mL), dried (MgSO4) and the solvent was removed in vacuo to give the title compound as a viscous oil (0.03 g).
