Procedure
2.1 g of 1-acetyl-4-(5,6-dimethoxy-1,2-benzisoxazolyl)piperidine obtained in Example 20 and 25 ml of 48% HBr solution react at reflux for 4 hours, and at room temperature for 10 hours to precipitate a white deposit. The deposit is filtered out and recrystallized in methanol-diethyl ether to obtain 1.0 g of 5-hydroxy-3-(4-piperidinyl)-1,2-benzisoxazole hydrobromide, which is used according to step 4 in Example 13 to obtain 7-[4-(4-(5,6-dihydroxy-benzisoxazolyl)-1-piperidinyl)-n-butoxy]-3,4-dihydro-2(1H)-quinolinone hydrochloride, with a yield of 61%.
