When 3-methylamino-4-(2-mercaptoethylamino)-1,2,5-thiadiazole 1-oxide [prepared in Step A] is treated with about one equivalent of 5-dimethylaminomethyl-2-furan-methanol in concentrated hydrochloric acid according to the procedure described in Example 25, Step B, the title compound is thereby produced; identical to the product of Example 18.
