[(11-Carbamoylundecyl)carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (7) (0.085 g, 0.27 mmol) was treated with HCl (4 M in dioxane, 2 mL, 8 mmol) at room temperature for 14 hours. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo and further dried under high vacuum. The white solid (0.068 g, 99%) was used directly without further purification: m/z (ESI) 215 [C12H26N2O+H]+.
