Procedure

Ethyl 1-(4-methoxybenzyl)-5-[(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl)thio]-1H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxylate (0.127 g) was dissolved in trifluoroacetic acid (2 mL) and heated at 65° C. for 4 h. The trifluoroacetic acid was evaporated in vacuo and the residue was azeotroped with toluene (3×10 mL) then dried under vacuum to afford the subtitle compound (0.086 g).
