To a solution of Intermediate 7 (10.9 g, 34 mmol) in dimethylformamide (23 mL) was added potassium phthalimide (7.56 g, 40.8 mmol) and a catalytic amount of (n-hexadecyl)tri-n-butylphosphonium bromide. The mixture was heated at 70° C. for 3 hours. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure. Purification by column chromatography with silica gel, eluting with methylene chloride yielded the title compound (6.41 g, 49%) as oil.
