[(S)-1-(6-Fluoro-7-methyl-1-pyridin-2-yl-1H-benzoimidazol-2-yl)ethyl]carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (1.29 g, 3.5 mmol) was dissolved in hydrochloric acid in dioxane (15 mL, 4M) and the reaction stirred at RT for 1 h. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo to yield the title compound as an off-white solid (1.17 g, 100%). LCMS (Method C): RT=1.88 min, [M+H]+=271.
