To a solution of acetic acid 2-((S)-1-tert-butoxycarbonylaminoethyl)-5-fluoro-3-phenyl-3H-benzoimidazol-4-ylmethyl ester (190 mg, 0.44 mmol) in methanol (2 mL) was added HCl in dioxane (4N, 5 mL) and the reaction stirred at RT for 2 h. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo to give the title compound as a beige solid (159 mg, 100%). LCMS (Method C): RT=1.61 min, [M+H]+=372.
