Procedure
To a solution of 8-(5-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)-1,4-dioxa-8-azaspiro[4.5]decane (500 mg) in 1,4-dioxane (5 ml) is added conc. HCl (4 ml), and the mixture is stirred for 2 hours at 50° C. The solvent is removed under reduced pressure. The residue is dissolved in CH2Cl2 and washed with satd. aqueous NaHCO3 (2×), dried (Na2SO4) and filtered, and the solvent is removed under reduced pressure to give 1-(5-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)piperidin-4-one (400 mg). m/z(+) 310/312/314 (M+H+).
