To a room temperature solution of 100 mg (0.2 mmol) of 1-(5-chlorothiophen-2-yl)-2,2,2-trifluoro-1-[1-(4-fluorophenyl)-1H-indazol-5-yl]ethanol in 5 mL of CH2Cl2 was added 100 mg (0.5 mmol) of m-chloroperbenzoic acid. After 3 hours, the reaction was diluted with 5 mL of water and extracted with CH2Cl2. The combined organic layers were washed with brine, dried over sodium sulfate, and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by flash chromatography using ethyl acetate in hexanes (10-30% gradient) to afford 14 mg (13%) of the title compound. MS m/z 459.82 (MH+).
