636 mg (1.5 mmol) of (Z)-3-[1-(3-trifluoroacetylamino-phenylamino)-1-phenyl-methylidene]-2-indolinone are dissolved in 20 ml of acetone and after the addition of 423 mg (3 mmol) of potassium carbonate and 0.25 g (3 mmol) of methyl iodide stirred for 18 hours at ambient temperature. The reaction solution is freed from the solvent in vacuo after the insoluble matter has been filtered off. The residue is divided between dichloromethane/water, the organic phase is dried and concentrated by evaporation. The residue is triturated with ether, suction filtered and dried.
