Reaction Steps
Using the procedure described in Example 8, 2-methoxy-2-[3-(naphth-2-ylmethoxy)phenyl]butan-1-ol (Example 6) with reacted with prop-2-ynyl bromide to give 2-methoxy-2-[3-(naphth-2-ylmethoxy)phenyl]but-1-yl prop-2-ynyl ether in 92% yield, m.p. 54° C.
