Methyl N-(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidinyl)oxamate was prepared from diethyloxalate and 4-amino-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine according to the first step in Example III, Method B. The ethyl ester undergoes ester interchange in methanol to form the methyl ester.
