In 50 ml of ethyl ether was dissolved 2.4 g of N-ethyl-N-(3-pyridylmethyl)amine followed by addition of 1.3 g of methyl isothiocyanate. The mixture was stirred at room temperature (25° C.) for 1 hour. The resulting precipitate was collected by filtration, washed with a small amount of ethyl ether and dried to give 3.7 g of N-methyl-N'-ethyl-N'-(3-pyridylmethyl)thiourea as white prisms.
