In a manner similar to that of Example 1c, by reaction of 1.3 ml (15.8 mmol) of n-propylamine and 960 mg (1.6 mmol) of ethyl 4′-(3-iodopropoxy)-3′-(5,5,8,8-tetramethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydronaphth-2-yl)biphenyl-4-carboxylate (obtained in Example 1b) in 50 ml of ethanol. 790 mg of ethyl 4′-(3-propylaminopropoxy)-3′-(5,5,8,8-tetramethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydronaphth-2-yl)biphenyl-4-carboxylate are obtained in the form of a white solid (m.p.=120° C., yield=56%).
