In a manner similar to that of Example 1c, by reaction of 905 mg (13.4 mmol) of methylamine hydrochloride, 1.85 g (13.4 mmol) of potassium carbonate and 800 mg (1.34 mmol) of ethyl 4′-(3-iodopropoxy)-3′-(5,5,8,8-tetramethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydronaphth-2-yl)biphenyl-4-carboxylate (obtained in Example 1b) in 50 ml of ethanol. 511 mg of ethyl 4′-(3-methylaminopropoxy)-3′-(5,5,8,8-tetramethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydronaphth-2-yl)biphenyl-4-carboxylate are obtained in the form of a white solid (m.p.=141° C., yield=76%).
