(R)-tert-butyl 2-((S)-(3-chlorophenyl)(2-(methoxycarbonylamino)ethoxy)methyl)morpholine-4-carboxylate (120 mg, 0.28 mmol) was dissolved in a solution of 20% (V/V) TFA/CH2Cl2 (5 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred at rt for 20 min and a solution of satd aq NaHCO3 was added dropwise to adjust pH=7-8. The resulting mixture was extracted with CH2Cl2 (3×10 mL). The combined organic extracts were washed with brine, dried over Na2SO4, and concentrated in vacuo to afford methyl 2-((S)-(3-chlorophenyl)((R)-morpholin-2-yl)methoxy)ethylcarbamate (120 mg, 100%), which was used without purification.
