To a solution of tert-butyl {1-[2-(5,7-difluoro-2-oxoquinoxalin-1(2H)-yl)ethyl]piperidin-4-yl}carbamate (Intermediate 193, 0.21 g) in dioxane (3 mL) and water (1 mL) was added 4 M HCl in dioxane (1 mL). After 30 minutes, additional 4 M HCl/dioxane (3 mL) was added. After 1 hour, the reaction was diluted with chloroform and poured into a saturated solution of Na2CO3. The organic solution was collected, dried (Na2SO4), filtered and concentrated yielding 0.158 g of crude titled compound.
