To a solution of tert-butyl {1-[2-(6-cyano-2-oxoquinoxalin-1(2H)-yl)ethyl]piperidin-4-yl}carbamate (Intermediate 198, 0.38 g) in methylene chloride (4 mL) was added at 0° C. TFA (2 mL). After 1 hour, the reaction was diluted with chloroform, washed with saturated solution of Na2CO3, dried (Na2SO4), filtered and concentrated yielding 0.25 g of crude product.
