Procedure

45.73 g (0.20 mol) of ethyl 3-amino-2-chloro-3-phenyl-propenoate are reacted with 31.9 g (0.71 mol) of formamide and 93 ml of sodium methylate solution in 120 ml of methanol and worked up in analogy to Example 9 (reaction time 16 h). Yield: 32.9 g (79.7%)
