Stearic acid (285 g, 1 mol) and triethylenetetramine (146 g, 1 mol) was reacted at 163°-166° C. until one mole of water was evolved (28 minutes). To 20.0 g (0.05 mol) of the resulting triethylenetetramine monostearamide dissolved in 200 ml. of toluene was added a mixture of 80.7 g (0.12 mol) of perfluorodecenyloxybenzene sulfonyl chloride and 7.0 g of sodium carbonate over a period of 15 minutes while the temperature was held at 75°-80° C. After 1/2 hour more at 85° C., the solution was decanted from the sodium chloride and the solvent was removed by distillation to yield the product, 2.4 perfluorodecenyloxybenzenesulfonamide triethylenetetramine monostearamide, a tan, hard, waxy, solid with good water, oil and soil repellancy.
