To a solution of 0.1 part of N1 -(morpholinocarbonylmethyl)-N4 -(2-aminobenzyl)piperazine in 3 volume parts of pyridine is added 0.062 part of benzoyl chloride, and the mixture is kept standing at room temperature overnight. Then the pyridine is distilled off under reduced pressure, and resultant residue is chromatographed over silica gel. Ethyl acetate eluates give N1 -(morpholinocarbonylmethyl)-N4 -(2-monobenzoylaminobenzyl)piperazine as oily substance.
