1,4-Dihydro-1-(2-methoxyethyl)-7-methyl-4-oxo-1,8-naphthyridine-3-carboxylic acid (0.5 g) and N,N'-carbonyldiimidazole (0.31 g) in dimethylformamide (50 ml) were warmed at 60° for 1 hour. 5-Amino-1H-tetrazol (0.16 g) was added and the solution was stirred at 60° for 2 hours and cooled. The solid was collected and crystallised from dimethylformamide and had m.p. 245°-246° (d).
