Procedure
To a solution of 70g (0.79 mole) thiazolidine** and 160g (1.58 moles) triethylamine in one liter ethyl ether was added 120g (1.58 moles) carbon disulfide at 21°-2° over a period of 30 minutes. After the mixture was stirred at ambient temperatures for an additional 2.5 hours, it was filtered to give a pale yellow solid which was then washed with 1.51. (5 × 300ml) ether to yield 201 g (96% conversion) of desired product, m.p. 101°-3°C. (gas evol.).
