Procedure

Acid hydrolysis of 2-bromo-N-formyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydrobenzo[b]thien-4-amine (Example 35 ) with 1N hydrochloric acid after refluxing for one hour and evaporating to dryness affords 2-bromo-4,5,6,7-tetrahydrobenzo[b]thiophen-4-amine hydrochloride.
