Prepared from 6-(4-chloro-phenyl)-8-methyl-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine (example C.21 step 1) (6.65 g, 27 mmol) and iodine monochloride as described in example C.20 step 3. Obtained the title compound as an off-white solid (8.0 g, 79%). MS (ISP) 369.0 [(M+H)+], 371 [(M+2+H) +].
