A mixture of the product from Example 168D (0.30 g, 0.805 mmol), 4-cyanophenylboronic acid (0.15 g, 1.05 mmol), Pd(PPh3)2Cl2 (0.03 g, 0.04 mmol), and 1 M Na2CO3 (2.01 mL, 2.01 mmol) in isopropanol (15 mL) was heated to 90° C. under a dry nitrogen atmosphere for 2 days. After cooling, the reaction mixture was filtered through celite and concentrated under reduced pressure. The crude material was purified by column chromatography (100% dichloromethane to 90:10 dichloromethane/methanol) to afford the product in 33% yield as a light brown solid. 1H NMR (CD3OD, 300 MHz) δ 8.29 (d, J=9 Hz, 1H), 7.95 (q, J=9 Hz, 4H), 7.83 (d, J=3 Hz, 1H), 7.75 (dd, J=3, 9 Hz, 1H), 3.49-3.42 (m, 2H), 3.17-3.12 (m, 2H), 2.78-2.73 (m, 2H), 2.62-2.59 (m, 1H), 2.12-2.09 (m, 1H), 1.92-1.84 (m, 2H), 1.61-1.53 (m, 1H), 1.25 (d, J=6 Hz, 3H). MS (ESI) [M+H]+ at 359.
