To a solution of 5-phenyl-1-pentanol (3.28 g, 20 mmoles) and triethylamine (6.13 ml, 44 mmoles) in CH2Cl2 (35 ml) under N2, p-toluen-sulphonyl chloride (4.19 g, 22 mmoles) was added and then put under stirring up to room temperature for 1 night. The mixture was washed with water, NaHCO3 and 5% HCl, anhydrified and brought to dryness to give 6.55 g of the title compound (yield: 100%).
