To a solution of product from step 2 (500 mg, 1.11 mmol) in methylene chloride (10 ml) was added 4M HCl (2 ml) and the resulting mixture was stirred for 2 hours at room temperature. The solid was filtered, washed with ether to obtain 410 mg(95%) of the product as a solid. 1H NMR(300 MHz, CDCl3): δ1.86(m, 3H), 2.52(m, 4H), 2.89(m, 2H), 3.52(m, 2H), 3.74(s, 3H), 4.74(m, 2H), 7.10(d, 2H, J=8.7 Hz), 7.69(d, 2H, J=8.7 Hz).
