Reaction Steps
Compound 6 (6.20 g) was acetylated with acetic anhydride (9 ml) in aqueous sodium hydroxide at pH 9 and 4° C. according to the procedure of Yoshida and Ishii [J. Biochem., 71, 185-191 (1972)]. Obtained 5.32 g (71.4%), mp 165°-166° C., [α]D25 =-46.2 °(c =2.8, ethanol)
