Into a 100 ml reaction flask equipped with stirrer, thermometer, reflux condenser and heating mantle are placed 28.5 grams of cycloheptanol; 9.2 grams of mercaptoacetic acid and 0.5 grams of paratoluene sulfonic acid. The reaction mass is heated to reflux and refluxed for a period of 10 hours. At the end of the 10 hour period, the reaction mass is washed with one 25 ml volume of water followed by drying over anhydrous sodium sulfate. The reaction mass is then distilled in a micro distillation apparatus yielding the compound having the structure ##STR115##
