Procedure

A stirred solution of 4-[3-(4-nitrophenyl)-1-ethyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl]-2-(4-acetamidophenyl)-1-phenylsulfonyl-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine (0.8 mmol) and 20% palladium(II)hydroxide on carbon (0.1 g) was hydrogenated with a balloon of hydrogen for 3 days at room temperature. The reaction was filtered through a pad of Celite, rinsed with ethyl acetate and concentrated under vacuum to give the title product as an off-white solid (52%). ESMS [M+H]+: 577.4
