Procedure
To a solution of 4-12 (0.20 g, 0.41 mmol) in EtOH (5 mL) was added 1N NaOH (0.5 ml, 0.5 mmol). After stirring for 2 h, the solvents were evaporated and the residue was chromatographed (silica gel, 25:10:1:1 followed by 15:10:1:1 ethyl acetate/EtOH/water/NH4OH) to give 4-13 as a white solid.
