2-chloro-5-methoxy-pyridine (200 mg, 1.39 mmol) and mCPBA (360 mg, 2.09 mmol) was dissolved in CH2Cl2 (10 ml). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 days. The mixture was then diluted with CH2Cl2 and washed with 10% aqueous K2CO3 and brine and dried over Na2SO4. The solvent were removed in vacuo affording 140 mg (63%) of the title compound as white crystals.
