The anhydrous AT-2266 prepared by Reference Example 2 or the AT-2266.trihydrate prepared by Reference Example 3 was dissolved in 5% hydrochloric acid and the solution was concentrated to dryness under reduced pressure. The residue was recrystallized from water to give the AT-2266.hydrochloride, mp above 300° C. (dec.).
